  ROAD DOG'S HOLIDAY

Road Dog's Holiday, George’s new release, showcases his years of experience in the roots tradition. The CD, like his live show, features the seasoned songwriter as well as the fiery frontman. A distinct Country and Gospel music influence is reflected, featuring sounds as varied as accordion, lap steel, and baritone sax. Still, New Orleans and the Blues are ever-present in this disc. It includes an all star cast of players from Loup Garou Zydeco to the Tom Tom Club. George and Pinetop do the last "Bonus Track" together.

GEORGE KILBY JR

This CD, originally with Denmark’s Baltazar Music, is George's definitive statement on the blues. His years with living legend Pinetop Perkins, and his share of roadhouse bar gigs inspired him break out of the blues format on this one. Seriously funky new material, and a few songs from his previous indie release. Plus, some great tracks he has done with the old guard- Pine and Rosco. The album that takes an original and modern approach to the blues, while still recognizing the tradition. It gained Radio praise (and airplay) by appearing on WNTI's "10 BEST RELEASES OF 2003" www.wnti.org.

SPELL IT OUT

This indie record supported George's European tours throughout the 90's. As well, it recieved impressive critical acclaim. It was re-mixed with the addition of the single "Manhattan," a popular tune at live gigs in New York City. Kilby’s powerhouse Sax section of Michael Blake and “Donnie C” are featured on every track.

PINETOP PERKINS AND FRIENDS

The material is both traditional blues and classic American roots. But the production on the CD is decidedly not traditional. The record received a very controversial reception in 1991, enraging the “Blues Nazis” and peaking the interest of the genre-bending crowd. In fact, some of the musical devices, such as the mixing of New Orleans and Chicago Styles, and covering classic country in a blues format have become very trendy. The CD featues Pinetop Perkins, the legendary Rosco Gordon, Charles "Honeyboy" Otis, Jerome Jumonville, and the late Howie Wyeth.

LIVE AT '85

This release was recorded live on Pinetop's 85th birthday, in a honky tonk bar, on a steamy night in July, when Pine and Coolerators were red hot! It is the only CD in existence that features Pinetop with a horn section. While the ledgendary pianist has recorded several albums with his favorite tunes, this outing showcases the ensemble's particular take on the set, where the band often uses a funky New Orleans groove instead of a straight-ahead Chicago groove, and where bold horn lines take the place of the bluesharp more commonly heard on Pinetop's records.
